I've been fortunate enough to catch a couple of Imelda's sets in the past year, fortunate because they were both sold out and relied on a bit of circumstance. Imelda May dominates the stage. Like the sound, there is nothing gimicky about the performance, it's just her and the band.
She makes the show, by her use of the stage, her look and most importantly her voice. She knows it's her role to entertain and that's what she's going to do.
She can cut you down like Patsy Cline and pick you up like Dr. Pepper. Imelda May is an accomplished performer and this is going to be one hot ticket of a show.
